An attack by knife-armed Hitler Youth and the ban on using the local swimming pool were among the bitter experiences Georg Iggersheimer had to go through as a Jewish child. On the other hand, he also remembers people who were more or less openly friendly with Jews. He always felt more Jewish than German, and out of rebellion against his parents, Orthodox Jewish, which is why he began to attend Talmud Torah school, also to get more in touch with his Jewish peers.
