“A few days after we arrived, we were first on a common farm that my father had already leased in the summer so that we could all sleep somewhere.
I still remember the apples and potatoes that were lying around in the field, that we collected and then had a meal together. I think we all remember the food.
And then a while later we moved to a farm where the previous residents had gone bankrupt, but stayed there for a while to show us the most important things.
I think everything went very harmoniously.
Our life together with another family from Czechoslovakia, who were on the farm with us and worked there, was also very harmonious. "
