Wilma Iggers: School in Canada and acceptance for McMaster scholarship

Interview with Wilma Iggers in Bielefeld, Germany, 2006.

This video is currently only available in German. Below you will find an English translation of the audio track.

“I only went to school in early January, and I went to high school. I was first placed in a lower class and then in the last, that is, the one in which you did the [Signematric? Spoken incomprehensibly!], which is something like the graduation from high school.
People were curious and asked questions. We were also dressed a little differently from the others. Questions were whether we also have radio and so on and I think people were all very surprised that - although we couldn’t practically speak English, that - I’m talking about myself now - that everything went pretty easily. And in the spring I already got a letter from McMaster University that - regardless of whether I can take the exams at the end of the year - I would be admitted to the university with a scholarship.
It was later discovered that others had also made it and that I wasn’t such a genius.”
