The Torah (also Torah, Torah; emphasis on “a”, in Yiddish Tojre, also Tauroh; from Hebrew תּוֹרָה ‘command’, ‘instruction’, ‘instruction’, from jarah ‘instruct’) is the first part of the Tanach, the Hebrew Bible. It consists of five books, which is why it is also called chamischa chumsche tora ‘The five fifths of the Torah’ in Judaism.
