“When I saw Wilma for the first time in 1966 - that was in Neuendorf where I was born - I said: Oh, that’s a woman from the USA!
At that time that was very far away from Neuendorf, where we had the meeting at the time.
At that time I said: That is a Jewess. And she speaks German and she also speaks Czech. And she spoke English with her three sons - they were also there at the time.
And I said: How is that possible? What kind of woman is she?
She was my mother’s classmate at the time (befor the war). So we met at our house.”
